CourseCompass is a website that allows you to do homework and take tests, gives you immediate feedback, and tutors you when you want. Access to CourseCompass is included with the purchase of a standalone access kit in the bookstore or online, but you need a valid Course ID from your instructor). Registration

1. Shift-click on the link www.coursecompass.com.
2. Click the Register button below Students
3. Make sure you have A Student Access Code (included with your textbook).
4. Click Next.

    

5. Leave No, I am a New User selected. (Note: if you have previously registered for an online product published by Addison Wesley, Allyn & Bacon, Benjamin Cummings, Longman, or Prentice Hall, you may already have a Pearson Education account. Click Yes, Look Me Up, then enter your login name and password).
6. Enter the Access Code (located in the Student Access Kit or inside your textbook) and your School ZIP code (94565).
7. Select your School Country (United States) from the drop-down list.
8. Click Next.

   

9. Enter the proper Course ID.
   For the MW class (1:00 to 2:50), use holtmann47006
   For the MW class (3:00 to 4:50), use holtmann78844
10. Click Next.

    

11. Enter your First Name, Last Name, and E-mail Address (if you don't have one, use mine: eholtman@losmedanos.edu).
12. Select your School Name (Los Medanos College) from the drop-down list.
13. Create a Login Name.

    I suggest you use your WebAdvisor login: first initial + last name + last three digits of your student ID.

    For example Erich Holtmann, 0020216 becomes eholtmann216

14. Create a Password, then re-type your password in the required field.
    I suggest you use birthday, for example 11Jun1970
15. Select a security question from the drop-down list, then enter the answer.
16. Click the respective links to review the review the license agreement and the privacy policy.
17. Uncheck the "I want spam" box.
18. Click Next

    

19. Write down your login name and password on the first-day handout (also, a confirmation email is sent).

20. Click the Log In Now button below Course Compass.

21. Log in to CourseCompass using the login name and password you just created.

22. In the Course area, click on the course name to access the homework and tests.
